Today is the first day of my new series here. Every Monday I will be uploading a new post about a movie I have seen and give my thoughts and opinions about. Keep in mind, I am not a film expert, I am only here to give my thoughts and opinions
The film we are gonna look at today is: TOY STORY
Honestly, I have no clue why I am picking this movie. It's just a random pick. I know I wanted a Disney movie to start off with. I guess my subconscious was telling me to pick one of my top ten Disney movies
OK, so... before we get into my opinions about the movie, let's get some backstory about this movie. Toy Story was directed by John Lasseter. It came out on November 22nd, 1995. It was produced by Pixar Animation Studios and Walt Disney Pictures. Before the film started, there was a "short film" called Tin Toy, that gave a perspective from a tiny toy that wanted to play with. But the person who it was given the toy to is a baby who is not on the most careful side when playing with toys. So the toys run and hide from the baby, but the baby trips and falls, and starts crying(the natural thing to do when a baby falls). So the tin toy feels bad and tries to cheer up the baby. But once the tin toy gets his attention, the baby loses it's and focuses on a box to play with next. So the tin toy went through all that to see the baby get distracted by a box. I think it's funny and tells that you don't need fancy, expensive toys for a baby to play with, they will be fine with an ordinary box.
Now the movie starts right after the short ends. And we see the toys that we think are lifeless and not supposed to be not doing but sitting on a self. But they are actually walking, talking things that only pretend to be lifeless when a human person is in the room. they are happy to lifeless around them because they get to be played with by a little boy named Andy. Andy loves his toys and is always making up scenarios and scenes. But soon, a new toy, Buzz Lightyear, gets added to the OG crew and starts up a mess of things. But Buzz doesn't know that is just only a toy and not just pretending to be one. One toy, in particular, Woody, gets very jealous of the new toy and thinks that Buzz will take the spotlight and he will no longer be in it. So when the chance is stroked upon, Woody takes a chance to get rid of Buzz. But instead of losing Buzz in the end and Woody going on his merry way, Woody gets lost right along with Buzz. The next thing they know is that they are in a pizza delivery truck and on there the way to pizza planet. They search and search for Andy but he is not where to be found. Buzz being Buzz, thinking he is still a real space toy sees a "rocket" and climbs into the crane game with Woody trailing him. Suddenly to make matters worse, Andy's neighbor Sid, who is a bad kid, wins both Buzz, Woody, and a toy alien. They see Sid reconstruct toys that he found, are his own or ones that he steals from his sister. While stuck at Sid's house, Woody comes up with a to escape and get next door. But at the time Buzz and Woody are at Sid's house, Buzz realizes he really is a toy while watching an ad for Buzz action figure. Sid is evil and within his evil heart, he decides to strap a rocket to Buzz and wanting him to explode. But that doesn't get to plan but his plans are delayed by a thunderstorm. So everything is put off until the next day, Woody and Sid's mutant creature toys rescue Buzz just as Sid is about to launch the rocket and scare Sid into no longer abusing toys, and he runs into his house screaming in horror. Woody and Buzz leave just as Andy and his family drive away toward their new home. Woody ends up tricking Sid and freaking him out. Woody cannot get Buzz off of the rocket so they come up with a different plan instead. They try to get to the moving truck but only woody is able to get onto the truck. Woody goes looking into the moving boxes and finds RC, and throws RC out of the truck so he can save Buzz. Woody goes back and picks up Buzz, it looks like they are going to make it but it turns out that RC ran out the juice. They are saddened and disappointed that they missed their shot and never going to get to Andy now. But Buzz comes up with a PLan B once he sees the sunlight come off of Woody and burn his hand. His plan is to light the rocket and "fly." They light the rocket and pick up speed to get to the truck, well that's what Woody thinks. Buzz has a different idea. They drop RC in the truck and head for Andys' Mom's minivan. The rocket has magically vanished, and the glide into the minivan right next to Andy. And the happily ever after starts at Andy's new home. And that is the movie plot

Now this movie is one of my favorites. I will the characters and all the obstacles they have to got through to get to Andy. Toy Story is likely to be a fairly obscure story. According to. It changed the way people look at movies today and introduced new graphics and how animated movies are made nowadays. It was the first successful film that started the trend of the 3D craze that continues to exist to this day. It started a new trend and it makes me happy. I love the 2-D and always will but with this movie, we got something different and it started something for everyone. I also love the concept of the toy humans has a human-like appearance and act for them. Even though they act like "toys" around humans, the toys themselves are very human when the people are not around. According to, Mark VandeWettering (who works at Pixar), "Toy Story was a huge deal. It changed the rules. It changed the way movies were made, not just animated films, but all films. It is my belief that any history of a film written in the next century will have to include Toy Story."
